FAQ
Questions we are asked most

Working With Us
What kinds of companies do you work with?
Most of our clients are mid-market and growth-stage companies across retail, manufacturing, financial services and technology — typically £5M to £500M in revenue, plus funded startups preparing for a significant raise. If we are not the right fit, we will tell you and point you somewhere better.
How does an engagement typically start?
With a free 30-minute consultation, followed by a focused discovery sprint if there is a fit. We scope the problem with you, agree measurable targets, and only then propose a fixed-fee engagement. You will never be sold a retainer you do not need.
Do you work on fixed fees or hourly rates?
Fixed fees, wherever possible. We scope clearly, quote a fixed price and report against it. This keeps incentives aligned: we are paid for outcomes and progress, not for hours logged.
Can you work with our existing teams and advisers?
Yes — that is how we prefer to work. We embed alongside your finance, operations or commercial teams and coordinate with your auditors, lawyers and investors where relevant. Handover and capability-building are built into every engagement.
Do you take on interim or fractional roles?
Selectively. Where a client needs senior capability on a fractional basis — for example a fractional CFO during a fundraising process — we will consider it, provided it does not conflict with an active engagement.
Fees & Contracts
How much does an engagement cost?
It depends on scope. Discovery sprints are typically one to two weeks of focused work; full engagements range from a few weeks to several months. After the discovery phase we provide a fixed-fee proposal, so you know the full cost before committing.
What are your payment terms?
Standard terms are 50% on engagement start and 50% on delivery, invoiced in GBP, with 14-day payment terms. Larger engagements can be staged against agreed milestones.
What happens if we need to pause or end an engagement?
Our contracts allow either party to end with 30 days' written notice. You pay for work completed up to that point and keep every deliverable produced to date — no lock-ins, no clawbacks.
Do you sign NDAs?
Yes, routinely. We are happy to sign your NDA or provide our own mutual confidentiality agreement before discovery begins. Client information never leaves the engagement team.
Delivery & Support
Who actually does the work?
The senior consultant you meet at the start. We are deliberately small: no leveraged pyramids, no swapping teams mid-engagement. Where specialist skills are needed, we bring in vetted partners and say so upfront.
Do you work remotely or on site?
Both. Discovery and implementation work is usually most effective on site with your team; analysis, modelling and reporting happen remotely. We agree the mix at scoping and adapt as the engagement evolves.
What support do we get after an engagement ends?
Every engagement includes a 90-day post-handover support window: follow-up questions, framework troubleshooting and check-in calls, at no additional cost. Our full commitments are on the Support page.
Do you guarantee results?
We guarantee rigour, honesty and full effort — and we agree measurable targets at the outset so both sides know what success looks like. Anyone who guarantees specific business outcomes before seeing your data is selling you something.
